French angelfish
Pomacanthus paru

The adult French angelfish patrols coral reefs, rocky ledges, and sponge-rich areas in warm western Atlantic waters. It feeds mainly on sponges, algae, tunicates, and other small attached reef organisms. Adults are often seen in pairs and defend familiar reef territories with displays and close passes. A notable fact is that the adult’s dark body is edged with yellow on many scales, giving it a speckled gold appearance.
