Cheetah
Acinonyx jubatus

Adult cheetahs live mainly in African grasslands, savannas, and open scrub where long sightlines help them spot prey. They hunt mostly small to medium antelope by stalking close, exploding into a sprint, tripping the target, and finishing with a throat bite. Unlike most cats, their claws are only partly retractable, giving extra grip during high-speed turns. The cheetah is the fastest land animal, built for short bursts rather than long endurance.
