Greater Yellowlegs
Tringa melanoleuca

An adult Greater Yellowlegs is a tall migratory shorebird of boreal wetlands, coastal marshes, mudflats, and shallow ponds. It strides through water on long yellow legs, sweeping and probing with a slightly upturned bill for insects, small fish, crustaceans, and other aquatic prey. It is alert and vocal, often giving ringing calls when disturbed. A notable fact is that it can forage in deeper water than many similar shorebirds thanks to its long legs.
