Olive Bushshrike
Chlorophoneus olivaceus
The adult Olive Bushshrike lives in dense evergreen forest, woodland, and coastal thicket, where its olive-green plumage blends into leaves. It hunts mostly insects and other small animals by moving quietly through cover, then striking with a stout hooked bill. Although capable of flight, it often stays low and concealed rather than perching in the open. A notable fact is that it is often detected by its rich whistles and harsh calls before it is seen.
