Sperm Whale
Physeter macrocephalus

An adult sperm whale ranges across deep oceans, diving far below the surface in search of squid and fish. It uses powerful echolocation clicks to navigate dark water and locate prey, then seizes food with a long, toothed lower jaw. Adults are social but can travel widely, with large males making long migrations into colder waters. This species is the largest toothed predator alive and can remain submerged for well over an hour on deep foraging dives.
