Marsh Frog
Pelophylax ridibundus

Inhabits permanent wetlands, lakeshores, canals, and slow rivers, often basking on banks before diving into the water. Hunts insects, spiders, worms, small fish, and even smaller amphibians using a fast lunge and sticky tongue. Males give loud laughing calls from the water during the breeding season, especially in warm weather. This large green frog is highly aquatic and quickly escapes by powerful jumps and swimming kicks.
