Chinstrap Penguin
Pygoscelis antarcticus

The adult inhabits Antarctic and subantarctic coasts, nesting on rocky slopes and beaches before commuting to sea to forage. It feeds mainly on krill, along with small fish and squid, using powerful flippers to swim and dive with speed. On land it walks, hops, and toboggans over ice, but its strongest abilities are in the water. Its bold black line under the chin gives the species its common name and makes it one of the most recognizable penguins.
