Keel-billed Toucan
Ramphastos sulfuratus

The adult lives in humid tropical forests, woodland edges, and plantations from southern Mexico through Central America into northern South America. It moves through the canopy with bounding hops and short flights, feeding mainly on fruit along with insects, eggs, nestlings, and small reptiles when available. Its oversized, colorful bill is light for its size and helps reach, toss, and process food. A notable fact is that the bill also helps regulate body temperature by releasing excess heat.
