Beluga
Delphinapterus leucas

Adult belugas inhabit Arctic and subarctic seas, often using coastal shallows, river mouths, and areas with shifting sea ice. They hunt fish, squid, shrimp, and other bottom-dwelling prey, using suction feeding and echolocation in cloudy water. Their white color blends with ice-filled surroundings, and they lack a dorsal fin, which helps movement beneath sea ice. A notable feature is the flexible neck and rounded melon, both important in precise head movement and sound production.
