Spur-winged Goose
Plectropterus gambensis

Adults inhabit large African wetlands, floodplains, lakes, rivers, and nearby grasslands, often feeding on land and retreating to water for safety. They graze on grasses, sedges, seeds, crop plants, and aquatic vegetation, while also taking some invertebrates. In disputes they use loud hisses, strong wing blows, chest bumps, and the hard spurs on their wings. A notable fact is that some individuals can become poisonous to predators or people after eating blister beetles that contain cantharidin.
