Oceanic Whitetip Shark
Carcharhinus longimanus

The oceanic whitetip shark ranges through warm tropical and subtropical open waters, often far from shore. It is an opportunistic predator and scavenger, taking bony fish, squid, rays, turtles, seabirds, and carrion. Its long, rounded pectoral and dorsal fins make it easy to recognize, and its persistent investigating behavior can bring it close to divers or shipwrecks.
