Sheep Tick Nymph
Ixodes ricinus (nymph)

The nymph is an eight-legged juvenile that lives in damp vegetation, leaf litter, heath, and pasture, especially where deer and small mammals pass. It quests from low plants and feeds on a wide range of hosts, including birds, rodents, larger mammals, and humans. Its tiny size makes it easy to overlook while it takes a blood meal for several days. This is often the most important stage for transmitting tick-borne infections because it is both common and hard to detect.
