Western Green Lizard
Lacerta bilineata

Adults live in sunny, well-vegetated habitats such as scrub, hedgerows, field margins, rocky banks, and open woodland. They bask to warm up, then sprint through vegetation to catch insects, spiders, snails, and other small prey. Males can show vivid green bodies and blue throats during the breeding season. When threatened, they usually flee into cover but may bite strongly if handled.
