Western Marsh Harrier
Circus aeruginosus

The Western Marsh Harrier hunts over extensive reedbeds, marshes, flooded fields, and wet meadows. It quarters low over vegetation before dropping onto rodents, small birds, frogs, fish, or eggs with its talons. Adults often use shallow, buoyant wingbeats to search concealed prey at close range. Females are generally larger and browner than the paler, grey-winged males.
