Turbot
Scophthalmus maximus

Adult turbot inhabit sandy and muddy seafloors in coastal seas and deeper offshore waters. They ambush fish, crustaceans, and other bottom-dwelling prey with a rapid upward lunge. Both eyes are positioned on the upper side of the broad, flattened body, allowing the fish to watch for prey while remaining partly buried.
