Longtooth grouper
Epinephelus bruneus

Adult longtooth groupers inhabit rocky reefs, ledges, and coastal waters of the northwestern Pacific, often resting close to shelter. They are ambush predators that consume fish, crustaceans, and cephalopods, using a large mouth to suck in prey at close range. Their mottled brown pattern helps them blend into reef and seabed habitat. This species can grow to well over a metre long and is a highly valued food fish in parts of its range.
