Asian tiger shrimp
Penaeus monodon

Asian tiger shrimp inhabit warm coastal seas, estuaries, and mangrove-lined shallows across the Indo-Pacific. Mostly active at night, they forage along soft bottoms for worms, small crustaceans, molluscs, and detritus. Their boldly banded body gives the species its tiger name, while a rapid tail flip can carry it away from danger.
