Sea Otter
Enhydra lutris

Adult sea otters inhabit cold coastal waters, especially kelp forests and sheltered bays along the North Pacific. They spend much of their lives afloat, diving for sea urchins, crabs, clams, and other invertebrates. Strong forepaws and teeth help them handle hard prey, and individuals may use rocks as tools to break open shells. Their exceptionally dense fur traps air for insulation because, unlike many marine mammals, they lack a thick layer of blubber.
