Arapaima Larva
Arapaima gigas (larva)

Arapaima larvae remain in warm, slow Amazonian backwaters and sheltered floodplain pools. They feed on tiny aquatic invertebrates and plankton while staying close to cover. At this early stage, the young fish are vulnerable to predators and rely on concealment among submerged vegetation.
