Silver Gull
Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae

Silver Gulls are widespread along Australian coasts, estuaries, islands, and inland waterways, and readily use city parks and harbours. They are adaptable omnivores that take fish, crustaceans, insects, eggs, carrion, and discarded food. Adults forage by walking, swimming, snatching food at the surface, and making quick aerial dives. Their familiar red bill and legs develop with maturity, while their loud calls help defend nesting areas and signal disturbance.
