Money Spider
Linyphia triangularis

The money spider is common in grasslands, hedgerows, woodland edges, and gardens across much of Europe. Adults construct broad horizontal sheet webs, often topped by a loose tangle of threads that knocks small flying insects onto the sheet below. The spider waits beneath or at the edge of its web, rushing out to bite and wrap trapped prey in silk. Its common name comes from the old belief that a spider landing on a person would bring financial luck.
