Cylinder Anemone
Cerianthus membranaceus

Adult cylinder anemones inhabit sandy or muddy seafloors, where they live inside flexible mucus-lined tubes. Long tentacles spread above the sediment to catch zooplankton, small crustaceans, and other passing prey. Unlike true sea anemones, they belong to a separate group of tube-dwelling anemones and can rapidly retract deep into their tubes when threatened.
