Common Caiman
Caiman crocodilus

Adult common caimans live in tropical freshwater wetlands, rivers, lakes, and flooded savannas across much of Central and South America. They are ambush predators that eat fish, birds, reptiles, and mammals that approach the water. Powerful tail strokes make them effective swimmers, while their eyes and nostrils remain above the surface when the body is submerged.
