Peters' Keeled Cordylid
Tracheloptychus petersi

Peters' keeled cordylid is a secretive lizard of dry, rocky habitats in Madagascar. It shelters in cracks beneath stones and emerges to hunt insects and other small invertebrates. When threatened, it relies on tough, strongly keeled scales and cover rather than prolonged exposure. The rough armor gives this lizard a notably plated appearance.
