Yellow-Footed Tortoise

Chelonoidis denticulatus

Yellow-Footed Tortoise

Adults inhabit tropical forests, savannas, and forest-edge clearings across northern South America. They are slow-moving, broad-ranging foragers that eat fruit, leaves, flowers, fungi, and carrion. By spreading seeds in their droppings, these large tortoises play an important role in forest regeneration.
