Mangrove Periwinkle
Littoraria angulifera

Adult mangrove periwinkles climb mangrove trunks and branches, often remaining well above the water at high tide. They feed by scraping algae, fungi, and organic films from bark and other surfaces. During heat or drying conditions, an adult can withdraw into its tough shell and seal the opening to limit water loss.
