Clown Loach
Chromobotia macracanthus
Adults inhabit warm, flowing rivers and seasonally flooded forest waters in Southeast Asia. Mostly active at dusk or night, they forage over the bottom for snails, worms, insect larvae, and other small animals. A sharp, movable spine beneath each eye can be raised as a defense when threatened.
