Organ-pipe Mud-dauber Wasp
Trypoxylon politum
Adult organ-pipe mud-daubers inhabit sunny open areas, gardens, woodland edges, and buildings with sheltered nesting surfaces. Females build long cylindrical mud cells and hunt spiders, which they sting and carry back as food for their larvae. Adults commonly visit flowers for nectar, and their distinctive pipe-like mud nests may contain several cells joined together.
