Clearnose Skate
Rostroraja eglanteria

Adult clearnose skates inhabit coastal waters of the western Atlantic, usually over sandy or muddy bottoms. They spend much of their time resting on the seafloor, then glide forward to locate and seize benthic invertebrates and small fishes. Crabs, mollusks, shrimp, and marine worms are important prey. The pale translucent patches beside the snout give this skate its common name.
