Neon Tetra
Paracheirodon innesi
Adult neon tetras live in warm, acidic blackwater tributaries and flooded forest streams of the upper Amazon basin. They pick small invertebrates, algae, and fine organic matter from the water column and submerged vegetation. A reflective blue stripe and vivid red underside remain conspicuous even in very dim water.
