Blue Pursuer Dragonfly
Anax immaculifrons
The adult patrols near streams, ponds, and wetlands, often flying back and forth over open water in search of prey. It catches mosquitoes, flies, and other small insects in mid-air using its legs like a basket. Males are active territorial fliers and may chase away rivals from favored perches or patrol routes. Its large compound eyes give it a wide field of view, helping it track fast-moving prey with precision.
