Costa Rican zebra tarantula
Aphonopelma seemanni

The Costa Rican zebra tarantula inhabits humid forests, plantations, and burrows across parts of Central America. It is a nocturnal ambush predator that feeds on insects, other arthropods, and occasionally small vertebrates. When threatened, it may rear up, display its fangs, or kick irritating hairs from its abdomen. Its pale leg bands give this large, dark tarantula its distinctive zebra-like appearance.
