Common Stretch Spider
Tetragnatha extensa
Common stretch spiders inhabit waterside grasses, reeds, and shrubs across wetlands and damp woodland edges. They build delicate orb webs and take small flying insects that become entangled in the silk. Its exceptionally long, narrow body can be held straight along a stem, making the spider remarkably difficult to spot.
