Floral Egg Crab
Atergatis floridus

The Floral Egg Crab inhabits warm coral reefs and rocky coastal shallows, sheltering beneath stones and among crevices. Mostly active at night, it uses its stout claws to gather algae, carrion, and small bottom-dwelling animals. Its brightly patterned shell is a warning: members of this species can accumulate potent toxins that make them unsafe to eat.
