Silver-studded Blue
Plebejus argus
Adults fly over warm heathland, coastal grassland, and moorland, seeking nectar from small flowers. Males actively patrol low over the vegetation in search of females, while females place eggs on suitable host plants. The closed wings show pale silver spots beneath, a feature that gives this butterfly its name.
