Addax Calf
Addax nasomaculatus (calf)
Addax calves are born in sheltered spots among the sandy and gravelly deserts of North Africa. They stay close to their mothers, nursing at first before gradually beginning to nibble sparse grasses and shrubs. Their pale coats help them blend into the desert, and they can move quickly on long legs soon after birth.
