Comb-Clawed Click Beetle
Ctenicera pectinicornis

Adults occur in open woods, heathland, and grassy clearings, often resting on vegetation or flying near the ground. They feed sparingly on plant material such as pollen and nectar, while their larvae are the more active hunters. When overturned, the beetle snaps its body against the ground to launch itself into the air. The male's conspicuously comb-like antennae are used to detect scents.
