Puerto Rican Spindalis
Spindalis portoricensis

The Puerto Rican Spindalis inhabits forests, shade-coffee plantations, gardens, and wooded hills across Puerto Rico. It forages actively in the canopy for fruits, berries, nectar, and insects, often using its stout bill to handle plant food. This island endemic is notable for its strongly different male and female plumage, with males showing much bolder colors.
