Pacific Sand Crab
Emerita analoga

Pacific sand crabs inhabit wave-washed sandy beaches along the Pacific coast. They rapidly burrow backward into wet sand and extend feathery antennae to filter plankton from the water. Their streamlined body and powerful legs let them keep pace with shifting surf and sand.
