Cockatiel Hatchling
Nymphicus hollandicus (hatchling)

Cockatiel hatchlings remain in a nest hollow, sheltered by their parents in dry Australian woodland and scrub. They are helpless at first, relying on warmth and regurgitated seeds from adults. As they grow, they develop a sparse covering of down and begin making insistent begging calls. Their oversized feet help them brace in the nest before their feathers emerge.
