Arizona Mantis
Stagmomantis limbata
Adult Arizona mantises inhabit gardens, grasslands, desert scrub, and other vegetation-rich areas across the Southwest. They hunt by camouflage and ambush, seizing flies, moths, bees, and other insects with spiny grasping forelegs. Adults have fully developed wings, and females may consume a mate on rare occasions after breeding.
