Manila Clam
Ruditapes philippinarum

Adult Manila clams live buried in sand or mud along intertidal flats, estuaries, and sheltered bays. They extend paired siphons to filter algae, detritus, and other suspended particles from the water. Their patterned, ridged shells close tightly against predators and exposure at low tide.
