Red Sea Urchin
Mesocentrotus nudus

Adult red sea urchins inhabit rocky reefs and shallow coastal waters of the northwest Pacific. They move slowly with tube feet while scraping algae and seaweed from hard surfaces. Their dense test and sharp movable spines provide strong protection, although they can still be preyed upon by sea stars, fish, and crabs.
