Edible Sea Urchin
Echinus esculentus

Adult edible sea urchins inhabit rocky reefs and kelp-covered seabeds in the northeastern Atlantic and nearby seas. They move slowly on hundreds of tube feet while grazing algae, seaweed, and encrusting animals from hard surfaces. Their rigid test bears dense movable spines, and the complex scraping mouth is known as Aristotle's lantern.
