Mottled Sedge
Glyphotaelius pellucidus

Adult mottled sedges rest in damp vegetation near ponds, streams, and marshy margins. They are mostly active at dusk and at night, flying with hairy, tent-like wings in search of mates and suitable egg-laying water. Adults feed little, if at all, and their brief winged life is devoted chiefly to reproduction.
