Japanese medaka
Oryzias latipes

Adult Japanese medaka inhabit slow-moving or still freshwater, especially vegetated ponds, rice fields, and canals. They feed near the surface on small crustaceans, insect larvae, algae, and other fine food items. Males perform courtship displays and compete for access to females during the breeding season.
