Alaskan Stickleback
Gasterosteus aculeatus

Adult Alaskan sticklebacks inhabit freshwater lakes, streams, and coastal waters, especially around vegetation and shallow cover. They hunt small crustaceans, insect larvae, worms, and fish eggs with quick bites. During breeding season, males may develop bright colors, build a plant-and-mucus nest, and fiercely guard the eggs.
