White-rumped Munia
Lonchura striata

The adult White-rumped Munia is a small seed-eating finch of grassland, scrub, rice fields, forest edges, and human-settled farmland across South and Southeast Asia. It feeds mainly on grass seeds, rice, and other small grains, often clinging to stems while picking seed heads. Adults weave rounded nests from grass and may roost communally in dense cover outside the breeding season. The white rump is most obvious when the bird flies, flashing against its otherwise brown, streaked plumage.
