Common Cone-headed Grasshopper
Acrida ungarica

The adult common cone-headed grasshopper inhabits dry grasslands, meadows, field margins, and other areas of tall vegetation. It feeds chiefly on grasses and other plant material, resting lengthwise on stems where its slender shape provides camouflage. Fully developed wings allow it to make rapid flights when disturbed.
