Lucia's Sand Flea
Lepidopa luciae

Adults inhabit sandy beaches and shallow coastal waters, spending much of their time buried just beneath the surface. They dig backward rapidly and feed on small suspended particles and detritus in the water. Despite its name, this animal is a small crab rather than a true flea.
